MINSK, 30 November (BelTA) – French Lyon is ready to help the Belarusian capital improve its building illumination system, Honorary Consul of Belarus to Lyon Jean Jacques Rinck told the media at the Belarusian-French interregional business forum on 30 November.
The illumination of this French city is viewed as the world's most beautiful. Lyon is known for its Festival of Lights which is held every December and attracts thousands of tourists. Lyon's experience is already in use for the capital's street lighting. Jean Jacques Rinck said that French specialists are ready to intensify the cooperation. The Honorary Consul added that he already had a chance to see the city's lighting system and hailed its Christmas and New Year illuminations. Lyon can help Minsk make the city lighting even better, the Honorary Consul said.
According to Jean Jacques Rinck, France is also interested in developing cooperation with Belarus in the area of woodworking and textile industry. “Today France is searching for suppliers of high-quality wooden houses, and we will sign an agreement with Belarus on the delivery of such products,” he added.
The Belarusian-French interregional business forum is running in Minsk on 30 November–1 December. The event will mark the 40th anniversary of establishing twinning relations between Minsk and Lyon. Attending the business forum are businessmen seeking cooperation with Belarus in industry, agriculture, energy, tourism and other areas. The program of the forum also includes a number of cultural, education and gastronomic events.
The event has been organized by the Belarusian Embassy in France and the Minsk City Hall.
