First house commissioned by Belarusian builders in Russian Obninsk

MINSK, 8 September (BelTA) – The first startup complex of the residential estate Belarusian Block in Zaovrazhye District in Obninsk, Kaluga Oblast, Russia has been commissioned. Belarusian Architecture and Construction Minister Anatoly Cherny took part in the ceremony, BelTA has learned.

The first of the three houses the Belarusian Block will have is now ready to welcome its residents. It is a four-porch ten-story house with 216 apartments and well-developed surrounding grounds. The residents will get keys to their new homes in several days.

Anatoly Cherny said that a comfortable environment for life had been created in Zaovrazhye District. He mentioned assistance of the regional authorities with the project.

The project to build the residential estate Belarusian Block focuses on bringing about a comfortable and safe living environment. There are plans to restrict access to the block, install a video surveillance system, and provide 24/7 security. The residents will be able to use children playgrounds, a basketball court, courts for mini football and handball, and outdoor bodybuilding equipment. Apart from that, the new homes come with a spacious parking lot, free Wi-Fi, and lifts for people with disabilities.

An arboretum occupying about 4,000m2 was also opened in the Belarusian Block on 8 September. It is home to over 200 hand-selected plants, which grow in Belarus and Russia's midlands. A birch tree alley dedicated to Belarusian-Russian friendship will be opened soon.

Kaluga Oblast Governor Anatoly Artamonov underlined: “Belarusian construction workers have done everything properly as if they intended to live here themselves. The future residents will be able to truly appreciate this city block. The arboretum is a magnificent gift all by itself. It is important to take good care of it, expand it, and start a good tradition of planting trees together with kids here.”

Work is in progress to build the second house of the Belarusian Block. The ninth storey is being installed now. Only the foundation pit has been dug for the third house. The construction of the entire residential estate is supposed to finish in Q4 2018.
