MINSK, 29 November (BelTA) – The best joint sci-tech projects of young scientists from Belarus and China will get financial support, Chairman of the State Science and Technology Committee Alexander Shumilin said at the Belarusian-Chinese youth innovation forum New Horizons 2016, BelTA learned from the press service of the State Science and Technology Committee (SSTC).
The forum is held simultaneously at the Belarusian National Technical University and Northeastern University (Shenyang, China). Partaking in the forum events in Minsk are more than 200 specialists and students from Minsk and regional universities. The same number of participants registered for the event at Northeastern University.
According to Alexander Shumilin, a list of 25 joint Belarusian-Chinese sci-tech projects has been approved for 2016-2017. “The list is open, and we have agreed on the possibility to add more joint projects. I invite young scientists from Belarus and China to take an active part in the process and send their proposals for joint sci-tech projects. The best of them will get financial support,” the SSTC Chairman said. During the Belarus President's official visit to China the State Science and Technology Committee and the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China signed a memorandum of cooperation in the area of joint financing of Belarusian-Chinese sci-tech projects. The document will provide the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology with the opportunity to finance directly joint Belarusian-Chinese sci-tech projects.
The Belarusian-Chinese youth innovation forum New Horizons 2016 is taking place on 29-30 November. The forum was organized by the State Science and Technology Committee, the Education Ministry, the Belarusian National Technical University, the Politekhnik research and technology park of the Belarusian National Technical University, the Confucius Institute on Science and Technology at the Belarusian National Technical University, the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park Great Stone.
