DOSAAF motor rally arrives in Minsk

MINSK, 23 August (BelTA) – A motor rally to mark the 90th anniversary of the DOSAAF (Volunteer Society of Assistance of Army, Aircraft and Fleet) finished in the Stalin's Line historical and cultural complex near Minsk on 22 August, BelTA has learned.

The international motor rally set off from Korabelnaya Embankment in Vladivostok on 5 July. The participants covered 12,000 kilometers and visited more than a dozen cities. The race was split into two routes with the first group finishing in Sevastopol. Other participants went to Minsk and brought the rally symbols: the flag, the banner and shells with the soil from those cities where they visited.

The rally featured 28 vehicles of Russia and Belarus DOSAAF. Participants were representatives of the cities and towns of military glory. Each crew included two drivers. In every city and town along the route the rally participants were welcomed with festive events. They also had meetings with representatives of local administrations, war veterans and home front workers.

The rally ended with a festive rally on the Stalin's Line. Attending were chairman of Russia's DOSAAF Colonel General Alexander Kolmakov, acting chairman of the Central Council of Belarus' DOSAAF Vladimir Seroshtan, deputy chairman of the standing commission on national security of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Valery Gaidukevich, representatives of local authorities, various public organizations, veterans of the Great Patriotic War and the armed forces, soldiers-internationalists and young people.
