Days of Belarusian Culture in Beijing scheduled for 27-30 May

MINSK, 23 May (BelTA) – The Days of Belarusian Culture will take place in Beijing on 27-30 May, BelTA learned from the Culture Ministry.

The program of the forthcoming event will include Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake ballet by the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater, exhibitions of the contemporary Belarusian graphic arts from the funds of the National center of Modern Arts, master classes by Chairman of the Belarusian Union of Painters Grigory Sitnitsa.

The commission for cultural cooperation of the Belarusian-Chinese Intergovernmental Committee will hold its second joint meeting. The commission will discuss issues of humanitarian cooperation. The Culture Ministry of Belarus and the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of the People's Republic of China will sign an agreement on cooperation in cinematography.

The Center of Belarusian Culture will be officially opened in Beijing on 30 May. The center will be located in a 5-star hotel in Beijing downtown. One of its halls will be used for an information program with a chance of getting familiar with Belarusian books and paintings. The second hall will feature the medieval interior and will be used to treat guests with national dishes.

On 26-31 May Changchun will host a week of friendship between Belarus and China to mark 25 years of diplomatic relations. The opening of the Days of the Belarusian Cinema and a lecture of Culture Minister Boris Svetlov with a presentation of Belarus' cultural potential in Jilin University of Changchun, and also the performance of Ternitsa Ensemble of the Belarusian Song are scheduled for 28 May.
