CSTO exercise Combat Brotherhood 2018 to use Belarusian military transport aircraft

MOSCOW, 20 September (BelTA) – Belarusian military transport aircraft will be used during the Combat Brotherhood 2018 exercise of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, BelTA learned from Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff Anatoly Sidorov in Moscow on 20 September.

The CSTO military exercise Combat Brotherhood 2018 will take place in four countries – Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan – on 1 October – 2 November. The training operation Air Bridge (Vozdushny Most) involving the CSTO collective air force will be part of the Combat Brotherhood exercise.

“Military transport aircraft will be used in the course of the training operation. Belarusian combat aircraft will not be,” said the CSTO Joint Staff chief.

According to Anatoly Sidorov, Belarus will also be represented by peacemaking units and some of the combat units, which belong to the CSTO collective rapid response forces.

“Apart from that, Belarusian military personnel, first and foremost, officers, will be involved in the exercise in accordance with the allocated quotas by commanding the collective rapid response forces and the collective peacemaking forces,” added the CSTO Joint Staff chief.
