MINSK, 28 April (BelTA) – The coordination of the draft concept of the program to improve the border security of the Union State for 2017-2021 with the national economic and financial ministries has almost been completed, BelTA learned from the website of the State Border Committee.
“The draft document was considered by Belarusian and Russian representatives at the 48th meeting of the Union State Border Committee on 27 April. The document was developed in line with the Union State Treaty and envisages the implementation of the main provisions of the border policy concept of the Belarus-Russia Union State. We are completing the coordination of this draft document with the national economic and financial ministries. Once approved by the governments, the document will be submitted to the Union State Permanent Committee for further submission to the Union State Council of Ministers,” the State Border Committee said.
“The program is aimed at implementing the main provisions of the border policy and strengthening the border security between the two countries. This long-term document will help enhance the level of operation through equipping the external border of the Union State and creating favorable conditions for the border guards of Belarus and Russia,” the State Border Committee said.
