Concept ready to guide motorway service development in Belarus till 2020

MINSK, 27 July (BelTA) – A concept designed to guide the development of motorway service in Belarus till 2020 has been compiled taking into account opinions of travelers, BelTA learned from Sergei Leonchik, Deputy Head of the Central Office for Motorways, Head of the Motorway Maintenance Department of the Belarusian Transport and Communications Ministry, on 27 July.

This year the Transport and Communications Ministry and the Trade Ministry have been studying opinions of motorway users about the quality of motorway service available along Belarusian motorways. Motorway users and owners of motorway service outlets have been asked to fill in a questionnaire on the website of the Trade Ministry. As part of the process they can make remarks and proposals concerning ways to facilitate the opening of motorway service outlets, improve the operation of shops, public catering outlets, and consumer services outlets.

“We have analyzed all of that and have compiled a concept on motorway service till 2020,” said Sergei Leonchik. Upon instruction of the government the Transport and Communications Ministry is working out an action plan to implement the concept. According to the source, interesting innovations in the sphere of motorway service can be implemented as early as this year.
