CIS International Innovative Development Fund established in Minsk

MINSK, 18 October (BelTA) – The first session of the Council of the CIS International Innovative Development Fund took place at the Belarusian Institute of System Analysis and Information Support for Scientific and Technical Sphere in Minsk, BelTA learned from the press service of Belarus' State Committee on Science and Technology.

The fund was set up to implement decisions of the CIS governing agencies related to development of interstate innovative space. Participants of the first session of the fund adopted fundamental policy documents and an action plan that also envisages the formation of the fund's agencies and branches.

Director of the fund Anatoly Grishanovich informed that the new organization will help establish a technological platform for full-cycle interstate innovative cooperation in introducing large-scale innovations. The fund will incorporate several functions of various interstate institutions, including financial organizations, expert and counseling agencies. “This will allow establishing the necessary groundwork for structural growth and setting up a group of independent institutions in the future. This will also enable regular contacts between them,” he explained.

The interaction between the fund and national government agencies and organizations authorized for interstate innovative cooperation is to be discussed at the session of the Interstate Council for Sci-Tech and Innovative Cooperation on 29-30 November. The agenda of the session features 12 points, including international sci-tech and innovative cooperation of the council with industry-specific agencies of the CIS, EAEU member states and the Union State. Participants of the session will also discuss elaboration of the concept of the Interstate Innovative Cooperation Program of the CIS member states for 2021-2030.
