MINSK, 21 September (BelTA) – The CIS international film forum Minsk 2017 which will take place in the Belarusian capital on 21-23 September will open with Russia's After You're Gone by Anna Matison, BelTA learned from the organizers of the event.
The forum will feature the films released in the CIS member states in 2015-2017, including Russia's After You're Gone produced by Sergei Bezrukov, the 2017 premiere Hostages (Georgia), Traces on Water by Alexander Anisimov and Vera's Sweet Farewell by Alexandra Butor (Belarus), the joint Russian-Armenian film Earthquake and debut works by young directors that evoked interest among viewers and received positive reviews from film critics such as The Monkey's Dream (Tajikistan). The film forum will be held at the cultural and business center House of Moscow in Minsk. The festival will organize a special screening of the Russian film Viking in Polotsk to mark the city's 1155th birthday.
Sergei Bezrukov and Anna Matison, Sarik and Gevond Andreasyan, Artyom Kuren, Alexander Anisimov, Alexandra Butor and others will personally present their works in Minsk. Attending the forum will be Belarus' Culture Minister Boris Svetlov and Mikhail Shvydkoi, the Russian President's Special Representative for International Cultural Cooperation.
The goal of the international film forum is to popularize the best CIS films, promote the development of the common cultural and cinematic space in the CIS , continue the cultural dialogue in the film industry, create favorable conditions to search for new distribution channels and establish ties between the film industries of the CIS countries.
The international film forum Minsk 2017 is organized by GPM KIT and Central Partnership Company, making part of the Gazprom Media Holding, under the auspices of the CIS Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation.
