CIS experts to discuss cooperation in sanitary protection in Minsk

MINSK, 10 September (BelTA) – Minsk will host the group of experts to finalize and coordinate the agreement on cooperation in sanitary protection of the territories of the CIS countries on 12-13 September, BelTA learned from the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

According to the document, the parties shall implement necessary epidemiological surveillance measures at checkpoints on the state border in accordance with the list of diseases associated with emergencies or with the possibility of their outbreak, and the list of goods subject to epidemiological surveillance. The parties to the agreement shall take measures to prevent such situations and promptly inform other countries, and if necessary, provide scientific, technical and other assistance in implementing preventive measures. They also undertake to send sanitary and disease control teams at the request of any of the parties.

The authorized institutions of the parties reserve their right to impose temporary health and sanitary control measures on the import of the goods subject to epidemiological surveillance and the goods that are potentially harmful to human health and to restrict their import, return, decontaminate or dispose of such goods.
