Chinese trade unions ready to help set up branches in Great Stone industrial park

MINSK, 14 November (BelTA) – Chinese trade unions are eager to help open local trade unions in Chinese companies operating in the Belarus-China industrial park Great Stone. The matter was on the agenda of the meeting between the Beijing Federation of Trade Unions and top officials and active members of the Minsk City Association of Trade Unions on 14 November, BelTA learned from Chairman of the Minsk City Association of Trade Unions Nikolai Belanovsky.

The Minsk City Association of Trade Unions is hosting a delegation of the Beijing Federation of Trade Unions from 13 to 15 November. “Two years ago, we signed an agreement on friendship and cooperation which we try to actively promote. The Chinese delegation comprises representatives of all kinds of trade unions: Beijing transport workers, tax officials, and others. They are getting familiarized with the work of relevant companies and their trade unions in Minsk. The guests are interested literally in everything: labor contract, social partnership, youth protection, interaction with councils of veterans. They have also asked lots of questions about the operation of resident companies of the Great Stone industrial park and the realization of the right to set up trade unions. Both China and Belarus are interested in it, this is why they are ready to provide assistance,” Nikolai Belanovsky clarified.

The Chinese delegation is expected to visit the the Minsk city mass transit system operator Minsktrans, the manufacturer of ceramic products and sanitaryware Keramin, the Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War, social and cultural facilities of Minsk, and the Belarusian Federation of Trade Unions. According to Nikolai Belanovsky, one of the main goals of the visit is to strengthen direct contacts between Chinese and Belarusian companies.
