China's Shandong Province interested in getting Belarusian technologies

MINSK, 24 May (BelTA) – China's Shandong Province is interested in the transfer of Belarusian technologies. China's Shandong Province Vice Governor Wang Shujian made the relevant statement during negotiations with the leadership of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus on 24 May, BelTA has learned.

“It is necessary to set up a special organization to transfer Belarusian technologies to enterprises and organizations of Shandong Province,” said Wang Shujian.

In his words, the Academy of Sciences of Shandong Province can act as mediator in this effort. “The Academy knows the domestic market well. It can act as a link between scientists of the two countries,” said the Shandong Province Vice Governor.

He reminded that Shandong Province scientific institutions have been cooperating with Belarusian colleagues from 2000. Since then the foundation for bilateral contacts has been formed, certain results have been achieved. “The purpose of our visit is to fill cooperation with real projects,” stressed the Chinese guest.

Wang Shujian expressed interest in borrowing cutting-edge agricultural technologies, in sharing the best practices in agriculture, in arranging exchange programs in the area of healthcare and new materials.

In turn, Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov expressed readiness to back the proposals. He referred to the academies of sciences in Belarus and Shandong Province as the platform for cooperation. Vladimir Gusakov hailed the initiative to set up a special organization to transfer technologies. “The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus has a technology transfer division that tightly cooperates with scientists of the People's Republic of China,” said the official.
