MINSK, 14 March (BelTA) – China's Hunan province has presented its tourism potential in Minsk, BelTA informs.
Tourism has become an important component of Belarus-China relations, noted Deputy Chairman of the Tourism Development Commission of Hunan province Zhou Anwei. He stressed that Hainan is a popular resort that attracts many tourists. The island develops wellness, medical, educational, agricultural tourism, and ecotourism. Wedding tourism has been gaining traction lately, too. Tourist destinations are constantly updated in line with changing demand. “We will be happy to welcome Belarusian tourists,” Zhou Anwei said. He expressed confidence that Belarus-Hainan tourism traffic will keep growing and suggested launch direct Minsk-Hainan air service.
The Chinese guests demonstrated the tourism opportunities of Hainan province and its largest resort city, Sanya. The leading tourist firms of Hainan, representatives of hotel business and Sanya Aviation and Tourism College spoke about their work. They arranged an exhibition and showed a documentary about the island's beauty.
Vitaly Gritsevich, Deputy Chairman of the Tourism Department of Belarus' Sports and Tourism Ministry, stressed the importance of the Belarus-China Year of Tourism. Belarus and China pay great attention to developing tourism cooperation, he pointed out.
The presentation was organized by the tourism development commissions of Hunan province and the city of Sanya. Prospects of Belarus-China cooperation in tourism came into the spotlight of the event.
