Candelaria currently leading in audience voting at Listapad 2017

MINSK, 10 November (BelTA) – The film Candelaria by Jhonny Hendrix Hinestroza (Colombia-Germany-Norway-Argentina-Cuba) is currently ahead in the audience voting for Best Fiction Film at the Listapad 2017 film festival, BelTA learned from the website of the festival.

With 3.71 points, Candelaria is one point ahead of Centaur, a 2017 film directed by Aktan Arym Kubat (Kyrgyzstan-France-Germany-Netherlands-Japan, 3.70 points). Boris Khlebnikov's Arrhythmia (Russia) is third with 3.59 points. The top five also includes the pictures November (Estonia-Netherlands-Poland, 3.56) and Pomegranate Orchard (Azerbaijan, 3.46 points).

At this moment, Andreas Dresen's Timm Thaler (Germany) is ahead in the voting for the Audience Award at the Listapadzik children and youth film competition. Wonderful Losers: A Different World (Lithuania-Italy-Switzerland-Belgium-Latvia-UK-Ireland-Spain) is in the lead in the Best Documentary nomination.

The total score is to be calculated to find out the winners of three audience awards: for Best Feature Film (pictures from the main competition and the Youth on the March contest), for Best Documentary, and for Best Film for Children and Youth (the Listapadzik competition).

The voting results will be announced at the closing ceremony of the 24th International Film Festival Listapad 2017 in the evening of 10 November. The hosts will also announce the Grand Prix winner and winners of other competitions. For the first time in the festival's history, an award to one of the pictures will be presented by the International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI).

The festival will wrap up with a screening of The Samurai in Autumn by Danilo Beckovic (Serbia).

The 24th edition of the Minsk international film festival Listapad it taking place from 3 to 10 November. Listapad has been established by the Belarusian Culture Ministry and Minsk City Hall in cooperation with the National TV and Radio Company, the National Film Studio Belarusfilm, and the Belarusian Union of Cinematographers. The festival is organized by the visual and performing arts center ART Corporation.
