Burgundy hosts Belarusian Cultural August

MINSK, 16 August (BelTA) – Residents of the French region of Burgundy are getting acquainted with the Belarusian culture, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy in France.

The Belarusian Cultural August project is presented in Burgundy from 6 to 19 August. The event has been attended by Belarus' Ambassador to France Pavel Latushko who held meetings with representatives of the regional authorities, the association of the French-Slavic friendship, and French people who have been providing humanitarian assistance to Belarusian healthcare facilities for more than 20 years.

France's Tonnerre played host to the opening of an exhibition of contemporary Belarusian artist Svetlana Ryzhikova who dedicated a part of her works to that French city.

The Belarusian Cultural August project also includes 11 concerts of the music band Vedrytsa under the baton of Yelena Tsyganok. The music band consists of teachers of music education establishments of Belarus. The band has already performed in France and had a great success.

The cultural program will also include an exhibition of photography and a guitar concert from teacher of the Belarusian State Music Academy Evgeny Gridyushko.

The Belarusian Cultural August, held for the second time, has been organized on the initiative of representative of the Belarusian diaspora Marina Bleshchik in cooperation with the Embassy of Belarus in France and the local authorities.
