BRSM Youth Union joins EU culture project

BREST, 21 October (BelTA) – The Brest Oblast Office of the BRSM Youth Union has joined the EU international project Kaleidoscope implemented as part of the Erasmus+ program by the European Center for Education Development, Poland, BelTA learned from First Secretary of the Brest Oblast Committee of the BRSM Youth Union Viktor Ivanov.

Apart from Belarus and Poland, partaking in the project are representatives of youth organizations from the German city of Oberhavel and the Lithuanian capital city of Vilnius. “We have been cooperating with the Center for Education Development for three years already. In August 2015, we signed a cooperation agreement, which, we believe, contributed to our joining the EU project. We view the project as a youth integration platform,” Viktor Ivanov noted.

The project running from 14 September 2015 through 14 January 2016 consists of three stages. During the first preparatory stage, the participants of the project visited their partner organizations. The office of the European center located near Biala Podlaska in Poland is hosting an international youth exchange from 18 through 25 October. This is the second stage of the EU project. The Belarusian delegation comprises seven representatives of the Brest Oblast Office of the BRSM Youth Union. These are volunteers, representatives of law enforcement movements, and creative groups.

The program of the youth exchange features educational, entertainment, and sports events. Besides, it includes roundtables and discussions on matters of international youth cooperation and different aspects of youth policy, trainings, competitions, presentations, and guided tours.
