Brest to host meeting on CSTO military technical cooperation prospects

MINSK, 23 May (BelTA) – The standing commission on collective security of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is set to meet in Brest, Belarus on 23 May to discuss matters of defense and security with the participation of the Belarusian law-enforcement agencies, BelTA learned from the Defense Ministry of Belarus.

Attending the event will be Head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, First Deputy Defense Minister of Belarus, Major General Oleg Belokonev.

The participants of the meeting are expected to discuss more than 20 issues, including the state and prospects for the military technical cooperation within the CSTO, the counteraction to the ideology of terrorism and extremism, destructive activity of non-government organizations with foreign financing and hybrid threats, organized crime prevention, illegal migration and illicit trafficking in drugs.
