BREST, 11 October (BelTA) – A Brest delegation at the World Festival of Youth and Students in Sochi intends to establish contacts with as many partners as possible and contribute to the development of the international movement of student work camps, First Secretary of the BRSM Youth Union regional committee Viktor Ivanov told BelTA.
“This year we had international student teams work in Poland. We have some experience of sending student teams to the Russian Federation. We are ready to cooperate. There is good potential for this. Summer work offices have been set up at all educational institutions, and BRSM territorial organizations. Therefore, we expect that the new agreements which will be achieved in Sochi will help expand the geography of summer work camps,” Viktor Ivanov said.
He noted that international cooperation is one of the priorities of the BRSM regional branch. “Arrangements have been reached with the Kursk regional organization Monolit, the union of rural youth of Poland, with which we are implementing many interesting and important projects in frontier districts,” Viktor Ivanov said. Brest is also developing cooperation under the Erasmus program. “During the festival we will have numerous meetings. I hope that we will establish new contacts and will see many new projects and activities in the future,” Viktor Ivanov noted.
On 11 October the regional office of the National Olympic Committee hosted a solemn meeting and farewell ceremony of the Brest delegation to the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students in Sochi. During the festival Brest Oblast will be represented by a delegation of 20 people. These are students and working youth, the BRSM active members - winners of regional, national and international festivals and competitions, the universiades, the holders of scholarships of the President of Belarus, authors of various social projects, representatives of youth parliaments, activists of public associations and volunteers.
The delegates were greeted by Deputy Chairman of the Brest Oblast Executive Committee Andrei Klets. He handed the flag to the young people of Brest Oblast and wished them that the participation in the World Festival of Youth and Students become a milestone and give them an impetus for new achievements. “We are proud of you. We very much hope that your participation in the festival will bring positive results. We will be happy to help you realize your undertakings. You will make many new friends at the festival, new discoveries and have many new opportunities. This will be a good moment in your life,” the vice governor said.
The participation of the Brest Oblast delegation in the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students in Sochi has been organized by the Brest Oblast Executive Committee, the directorate for ideology , youth and culture affairs.
