Belcartography, Roscartography to consider publishing atlas for tourists

GORKI, 22 September (BelTA) – The companies Belcartography and Roscartography will consider publishing a tourist atlas with historical and cultural sites of Belarus and Russia. The decision was made at the meeting of representatives of the Federal Service for State Registration, Cadaster and Cartography of Russia (Rosreestr) and the State Property Committee of Belarus in Gorki on 22 September, BelTA has learned.

Andrei Gayev, Chairman of the State Property Committee, believes that a wide range of stakeholders are interested in such joint cartography projects. “We will be doing our best to create products about different aspects of the relations between Belarus and Russia, including history, geography and economy. We want these products to be available to different categories of people: children, adults, tourists and those who just want to learn more about the relations between the two countries,” he said.

“We will certainly work in this direction and create joint products. I hope that our projects will be a success. Today we are discussing promising areas for cooperation in the near future. We have informed Belarusian and Russian companies about the agreements we have reached and about the specific results that we expect from them. For instance, we would like them to consider publishing maps using different sources of financing. We hope the task will be fulfilled in the near future. Today the process has received the necessary impetus,” Andrei Gayev said.
