Belavia to increase weekly flights to Paris

MINSK, 9 February (BelTA) – As from summer 2018, the Belarusian air carrier Belavia will be flying to Paris eleven times a week, Belavia Director General Anatoly Gusarov told the media ahead of the wrap-up session of the Belarusian Transport and Communications Ministry on 9 February, BelTA has learned.

“From the start of the 2018 summer schedule, we plan to fly to Paris 11 times a week. We have already got some slots at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport,” Anatoly Gusarov said. He specified that the flights will be crowded by transit passengers. “Paris is among the destinations for which we reduce the tariffs. The passenger traffic on this route goes up because many passengers from Russia and Kazakhstan prefer flights through Minsk,” Anatoly Gusarov clarified.

Furthermore, Belavia plans to increase the Amsterdam service to ten flights per week. “We have not obtained permission from the airport yet. We are holding talks to operate additional flights to Brussels, too. There is no permission for the time being, but this is just a technicality,” Anatoly Gusarov clarified.

In his words, the company has been conducting negotiations to launch flights to Munich for several years already. “We cannot make our way to this destination for the time being, although we want to launch regular air service between Minsk and Munich very much,” he added.

Belavia is Belarus' largest air carrier performing regular flights to 49 airports in 28 European and Asian countries. The company's fleet includes 26 aircraft (five Boeing 737-800 jets, six Boeing 737-500, seven Boeing 737-300, two Embraer-175, two Embraer-195, four jets CRJ-100/-200).
