Belavia launches flights to Nizhny Novgorod

MINSK, 31 May (BelTA) - Belavia, the Belarusian national air carrier, has launched flights to Nizhny Novgorod, BelTA learned from the company's press service.

On Tuesday, 30 May, Belavia performed its first flight Minsk-Nizhny Novgorod-Minsk.

Flights will be operated four times a week with the departure from Minsk at 11.45pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays and arrival at Strigino International Airport at 01.35am (local time) the next day. The aircraft will depart from Nizhny Novgorod at 04.45am on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays and arrive at Minsk National Airport at 06.45am. The flight time will be about two hours.

“The new route will open a world of possibilities for Nizhny Novgorod residents. First of all, there will be an opportunity to learn about the culture and landmarks of one of the oldest cities in Europe. Secondly, taste the Belarusian national cuisine. Finally, the Minsk airport will become the nearest international hub for Nizhny Novgorod to fly to Europe, Asia, and the CIS. The timetable will be comfortable for passengers to make a change of their interest. After a two-hour flight you will have dozens of routes to choose,” Executive Director of Strigino International Airport Denis Bukin said.

A one-way ticket will cost €88 and more, taxes and duties included. The price of a round-trip ticket will start at €156, taxes and duties included.

“Nizhny Novgorod is a business center and one of the biggest cities of Russia. We hope that thanks to a new route both businessmen and representatives of the scientific and social sectors will be actively developing partner relations. We, for our part, will do everything possible to make the timetable most convenient for traveling to the countries of Europe, Transcaucasia and Central Asia via Minsk,” Belavia Director General Anatoly Gusarov said.

Strigino International Airport of Nizhny Novgorod will become the seventh Russian airport in Belavia's route network. At present the Belarusian air carrier performs regular flights to the following Russian airports: Moscow Domodedovo Airport, Zhukovsky International Airport, Pulkovo International Airport, Krasnodar International Airport, Sochi International Airport, Khrabrovo International Airport. In line with the agreement on the joint use of the airline with the air carrier Sibir, Belavia, as a marketing forwarder, performs flights from Moscow to Yekaterinburg, Samara, Novosibirsk, Kazan, Volgograd, Tyumen, Krasnoyarsk, Nizhnevartovsk.

Belavia, Belarus' largest air carrier, currently operates 49 regular flights to 27 destinations in Europe, the CIS and Asia.
