Belarusians warned against visiting crowded places in Barcelona

MINSK, 15 October (BelTA) - The Belarusian Embassy in Spain calls on travelers to avoid visiting crowded places in Barcelona. The embassy posted the relevant recommendations on its website, BelTA has learned.

“In connection with the protests in Barcelona, we urge Belarusians not to visit crowded public places, to observe elementary precautions in crowded places, to closely watch documents and valuables,” the embassy cautions.

“There may be disruptions in public transport, including en-route to the airport. Please make your travel plans accordingly,” the embassy advised.

The Barcelona Tourism Agency has opened an emergency telephone line for tourists whose flights have been canceled and those who could not get to the booked hotel: +34932853834. In case of emergency situations, Belarusians should contact the Belarusian Embassy in Spain.

As it has been reported, pro-independence Catalans are protesting in Barcelona, with 78 people injured. The protests began after Spain's Supreme Court sentenced Catalan pro-independence politicians for 9 to 13 years in prison on 14 October.
