Belarusians to study at Huawei University in Shenzhen

SHENZHEN, 15 October (BelTA) – Ten Belarusian students will undergo a two-week course at Huawei University in Shenzhen, BelTA learned from Huawei's headquarters.

The Chinese tech giant is implementing an international educational project Seeds for the Future. About 1,000 Belarusian students and university graduates specializing in IT are selected for an internship at the innovative center of Bel Huawei Technologies. At the end of the internship, ten students who score the highest at the final tests are rewarded with an opportunity to study at Huawei University located on the campus of the company's headquarters in Shenzhen.

A cooperation agreement was signed by Bel Huawei Technologies, the Education Ministry and the Communications and Informatization Ministry of Belarus in April 2018.

Director General of Bel Huawei Technologies Pan Yong noted that information and communication technologies play a vital role in a country's development, therefore training of highly qualified specialists is getting increasingly important.

Huawei University is not an ordinary educational institution, because it offers continuing education to its employees, partners and clients. The company's campus covers a beautiful area filled with parks and lakes. The company is growing bigger, so four years ago it embarked on construction of another office of its headquarters in the city of Dongguan located 30km away from Shenzhen. The new building will accommodate around 10,000 employees.

The new office impresses with its unconventional approach to creating a working environment and it resembles a small town. The university will soon be relocated there. The architectural solutions were developed by leading European specialists. The space is divided into 12 zones resembling various European cities, like Vienna, Paris and Geneva. The new headquarters will be decorated by about 100 Belarusian paintings.
