MINSK, 27 June (BelTA) – Belarus' Healthcare Ministry and the Ministry of Sport and Tourism recommended the citizens of Belarus to temporarily refrain from trips to Ukrainian Izmail due to the difficult epidemiological situation, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Sport and Tourism.
“Belarus' Healthcare Ministry and the Ministry of Sport and Tourism recommend Belarusians to refrain from visiting Izmail and nearby settlements of Odessa Oblast,” the press service noted.
Travel companies are strongly advised to inform the citizens of Belarus going to Odessa Oblast about the outbreak of intestinal infections in the region, the existing risk of getting infected and the need to observe all the hygienic rules.
Approximately 720 people got affected in Ismail due to the mass poisoning; some 150 are still in hospital. The first patients applied to healthcare facilities on 16 June. Polluted water was established as the cause of the poisoning.
