Belarusian volunteers organize recreation for Ukrainians from conflict zone

MINSK, 29 July (BelTA) –Belarusian volunteers whose work is coordinated by writer Nikolai Gavrilov have organized recreation for adults and children from the conflict zone in Ukraine, BelTA learned from the parish of the Minsk Church of the Icon of the Mother of God Joy of All Disconsolate.

“A group of five adults and eight children rested in Belarus from 20 July to 28 July. This trip was organized with the assistance of many organizations,” the representative of the parish said. For example, children visited the Waterpark Lebyazhy and stayed in a private hotel in Minsk for free. Volunteers have organized visits to the zoo and the dolphinarium.

This is not the first charity campaign of this kind organized by the parish of Minsk Church of the Icon of the Mother of God Joy of All Disconsolate and St. Elisabeth Convent. Last year Belarus welcomed a big group of children and adults from the conflict zone. Besides, Orthodox volunteers deliver humanitarian aid to southeast Ukraine virtually every month. The financing for these activities are collected by the church and the convent.
