Belarusian, Uzbek interior ministries to step up cooperation

MINSK, 18 July (BelTA) – The interior ministries of Belarus and Uzbekistan have agreed to advance cooperation and have signed a protocol to guide interaction between the two ministries in 2018-2019, representatives of the Information and Public Relations Office of the Belarusian Interior Ministry told BelTA.

The protocol was signed when a Belarusian Interior Ministry delegation led by First Deputy Interior Minister, Criminal Police Chief Ivan Podgursky visited Uzbekistan.

During the meeting in Tashkent representatives of the two ministries discussed the advancement of cooperation in search for criminals, crime detection, and fight against general crimes. Drugs trafficking was mentioned as well as sharing information in the sphere of fight against terrorism, extremism, and illegal migration.
