Belarusian, Ukrainian rescuers to hold joint trainings

MINSK, 24 July (BelTA) – Belarusian and Ukrainian rescuers have agreed to hold joint trainings, Belarus' Emergencies Minister Vladimir Vashchenko told the media on 22 July, BelTA has learned.

According to Vladimir Vashchenko, Belarusian rescuers met with Ukrainian counterparts on 21 July to discuss some issues and reach agreements. “We have agreed that the next visit will include joint trainings. We have something to learn from each other,” the minister said.

He added that the matters the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry is responsible for are considerably wider than the responsibility zone of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. “We cooperate not only with this service. Other ministries are also our partners. In 2013 an agreement was signed with the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine in the area of nuclear security. We cooperate with the State Agency of Ukraine on Exclusion Zone Management. We maintain good relations and actively cooperate with each other,” said Vladimir Vashchenko.
