Belarusian track-record in community development commended

GOMEL, 20 April (BelTA) – "We are interested in the Belarusian experience in community development, including small towns," head of Pavlodar Oblast Bulat Bakauov told the media after the interregional meeting between Gomel Oblast and Pavlodar Oblast, BelTA has learned.

Members of the Kazakhstan delegation visited several district centers of Gomel Oblast. They noted that the places are well-planned, landscaped and well-maintained. “There are a lot of interesting things. Therefore, we are ready to invite Gomel architects, specialists of housing and utility services to Pavlodar Oblast to work with us for a while. On the one hand, they could learn from us in city-planning and, on the other hand, share their experience,” he said.

Another promising area of interregional interaction will be the purchase of agricultural equipment made by Gomselmash. The guests showed interest in the so-called budget combine harvester KZS-5 designed for use in small fields, primarily small farms. “We could purchase these harvester, or work out a project to assemble them in Kazakhstan. There is also an interest in other types of agricultural equipment,” Bulat Bakauov noted.

The delegation also showed interest in purchasing young cattle for dairy industry, increasing the deliveries of Belarusian furniture.

On 20 April the parties signed a protocol of interregional conference and an agreement on cooperation between the free economic zones in Gomel Oblast and Pavlodar Oblast.

The official delegation of Pavlodar Oblast comprises local officials, heads of companies and organizations. The guests from Kazakhstan visited Zhlobin, Rogachev, and Gomel to see local industrial and agricultural companies, social facilities. Among them were Belarusian Steel Works, Rogachev Milk Canning Plant, Gomselmash, Spartak, Tikhinichi, Gomel Palace and Park Ensemble.
