Belarusian team nearly ready for International Army Games 2018

MINSK, 26 April (BelTA) – The Belarusian army has almost finished putting together the team for the International Army Games 2018, BelTA learned from Chief of the Central Combat Training Office of the Belarusian army, Major-General Andrei Nekrashevich on 26 April.

The officer said: “We are in the final stage of the elimination competitions meant to nominate teams for all the contests the International Army Games will include. Many teams are virtually ready. They are getting together in specific army units.”

In his words, the Belarusian team for the tank biathlon event will be revealed tomorrow. “Elimination competitions are in progress in the 230th exercise area today. They will allow us to nominate the backbone of the Belarusian army's team for the tank biathlon event. Competitions will take place in the 227th combined arms exercise area in Borisov next week to select the best specialists for the Suvorov Attack event. The best APC crews will take part in the International Army Games 2018 in China. The combat vehicles will be provided by the host country. It will be necessary to master the new vehicles,” said the officer.

The International Army Games 2018 are scheduled to take place in six countries on 28 July – 11 August. The Games will feature 27 events. The Belarusian army intends to take part in 15 events, including Sniper Frontier, Community Warrior, Tank Biathlon, Suvorov Attack, and Aviadarts. The Sniper Frontier event is scheduled to take place in the exercise area of the 38th Independent Airborne Brigade near Brest on 28 July – 11 August.
