Belarusian specialists may help build nuclear power plant in Bangladesh

MINSK, 23 March (BelTA) – Belarusian specialists may help build a nuclear power plant in Bangladesh. The possibility was discussed as Belarusian Deputy Energy Minister Mikhail Mikhadyuk met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Bangladesh to Russia with concurrent accreditation to Belarus Saiful Hoque, the press service of the Belarusian Energy Ministry told BelTA.

Saiful Hoque expressed interest in cooperation with Belarus in power engineering. The sides discussed possible participation of Belarusian specialists in the construction of a nuclear power plant in Bangladesh as well as their participation in the reconstruction and construction of power engineering installations in Bangladesh.

Nikolai Petrenko, Director for Managing Proprietary Assets at ASE Engineering Company, informed participants of the meeting about progress in building the nuclear power plant in Bangladesh using the Russian nuclear power plant design AES-2006. He also informed those present about conditions for inviting Belarusian contractors and specialists.
