Belarusian, Spanish teachers to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation

MINSK, 11 April (BelTA) – The Minsk Regional Institute for Education Development will host an event that will bring together students and Spanish language teachers from Belarus' Minsk Oblast and a delegation from Zaragoza, Spain on 13 April. The meeting will discuss ways to step up the cooperation in education between Belarus and Spain, BelTA learned from the institute.

The participants will learn about the experience of School No.17 of Borisov in establishing and maintaining ties with the educational centers of Zaragoza. For instance, students of this school write letters to native speakers, visit tourist attractions, and get familiar with the traditions of the Spanish people. “The sides have been maintaining friendship and business relations for about eight years. Students of the Borisov-based school are regular winners of the national Spanish language competition. This year is no exception: the school's representatives won two diplomas in the final stage of the national competition,” the regional institute said.

The teachers will take part in a roundtable to discuss the development of the cooperation between Belarus and Spain in education and science. School students will be invited to participate in an interactive game devoted to the Year of Science in Belarus. The kids will present projects designed to improve people's life and the surrounding world in Spanish.

The Spanish dance group Baluarte Aragones will perform folk dances for the participants of the event. The guests will also be invited to learn about the activities of the Minsk Regional Institute for Education Development, visit its museum, library and health center.
