Belarusian songs in Chinese presented in Shanghai

BEIJING, 20 October (BelTA) – A collection of Belarusian songs translated into Chinese and published in China was presented at East China Normal University in Shanghai on 20 October, BelTA has learned.

The collection was published in cooperation with the General Consulate of Belarus in Shanghai, the Culture Ministry of Belarus, the Belarusian State Academy of Music, the National Center of Intellectual Property, and the Shanghai Book Publishing House. The collection includes about 100 Belarusian songs translated into Chinese by Chinese translator, Professor Xue Fan.

The collection was published to mark 25 years of the Belarusian-Chinese diplomatic relations, 135 years since the birth of outsnading Belarusian poets Yanka Kupala and Yakub Kolas and the 5th anniversary of the Center of Belarusian Studies at East China Normal University.

Attending the concert-presentation were the authorities of Shanghai's Putuo District, Belarusian Consul General to Shanghai Valery Matsel and diplomats of the consulate general, students and the academic staff of East China Normal University, representatives of the Shanghai Book Publishing House, Belarusians who study and work in Shanghai.

The Belarusian songs in Chinese, Belarusian and Russian were performed by the choirs of the Belarusian State Academy of Music, the academic staff and students.
