MINSK, 29 August (BelTA) – A tactical exercise for the Belarusian signal troops is in progress through 1 September, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Defense Ministry website.
The purpose of the exercise is to improve the readiness and the ability of command units and the signal troops to deploy communication systems for the regional military group and to deploy communication systems as part of the Belarusian-Russian strategic army exercise Zapad 2017.
The tactical exercise represents the final practical step in preparing the signal troops for the Zapad 2017 exercise, during which a communication system employing new and upgraded hardware of the Belarusian army will be utilized.
As part of the ongoing tactical exercise the Belarusian signal troops will deploy a united communication system for the sake of controlling the military units, which will be employed during the Zapad 2017 exercise.
