MINSK, 19 March (BelTA) – The active phase of the tactical exercise involving units of the special operations forces of the Belarusian army and airborne forces of the Russian army is in progress in the exercise area of the 31st Guards Independent Airborne Brigade in Polivno, Ulyanovsk Oblast, Russia on 19-22 March, the press service of the Belarusian Defense Ministry told BelTA.

It is important to consider that the organization of joint exercises allows sharing the best practices with Russian colleagues in preparing and carrying out missions in the course of peacemaking operations, noted the source.

The Belarusian army is represented by a unit of the 38th Guards Independent Airborne Brigade. The Belarusian and Russian troops will work together to practice carrying out peacemaking operations using standard-issue weapons, gear, and vehicles. Close attention will be paid to improving field skills of the personnel and to working out common views on methods for preparing and carrying out joint tactical exercises.
