MINSK, 29 August (BelTA) – Belarus has hosted an international peat football tournament among power engineers, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Energy Ministry.
“Belarus has hosted an international peat (swamp) football tournament among power engineers organized by Beltopgaz. The event was held at the peat deposit Siden in Shumilino District. Partaking in the competition were three Belarusian teams and two teams from Finnish companies Kuopion Energia and Vapo,” the press service said.
The victory went to the team of the Belarusian company Vitebskoblgaz who beat Beltopgaz in the final by a narrow margin. The team of Belenergo clinched bronze.
The tournament was timed to coincide with the Belarusian-Finnish talks on peat supplies to Finland.
