Belarusian, Polish customs bodies discuss throughput capacity of border checkpoints

MINSK, 15 June (BelTA) – Belarusian and Polish customs bodies have met in Grodno to discuss measures to increase the throughput capacity of border checkpoints, BelTA learned from the State Customs Committee.

Senior officials of the Grodno regional customs service, the Chamber of Tax Administration in Bialystok and the Podlasie Province Customs and Taxes Department discussed the ways to improve customs operations within the framework of bilateral cooperation, in particular, at the Bruzgi- Kuznica Bialostocka and Berestovitsa- Bobrowniki border checkpoints. Customs officials also determined approaches to the fulfillment of tasks concerning the increase in cargo flows, minimization of queues on the border on weekends and holidays, during the holiday season.

The representatives of Belarusian and Polish customs bodies visited a transport and logistics center (TLC) located in the vicinity of the Bruzgi 2 customs clearance office. The guests studied the positive experience of using transit-free technologies of customs operations at the internal customs clearance office Bruzgi-TLC.

According to the State Customs Committee, further efforts and interaction of the Belarusian and Polish sides will be continued, including within the framework of the Poland-Belarus-Ukraine transboundary cooperation program designed to run in 2014-2020 as part of the European Neighborhood Instrument.
