Belarusian IT university working on new education programs for Indian students

MINSK, 23 January (BelTA) – The Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics (BSUIR) intends to expand cooperation with Indian educational institutions and scientific ones, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian university has suggested educating Indian citizens. The relevant negotiations have been held with mediator companies. The Belarusian university has signed two contracts on providing education services with Ispra Company and Matey Abroad Education Consultancy. Negotiations are in progress with Europe Study Centre and WorldSolutions. The joint projects will allow the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics to diversify the export of education services and penetrate the Indian market.

Work is in progress to offer short-term courses for managers of Belarusian companies, which intend to export products and services to India. The managers will be able to learn the basics of strategic marketing and management, business administration, and merchant law taking into account the national economic interests of India.

The agreement on advancing the bilateral ties in education and science was reached when a Belarusian parliament delegation led by Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich, who is in charge of overseeing cooperation with India, visited India in May 2016. The source reminded that a number of partnership documents were signed during the visit, including a program on cooperation between the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics and the Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology in 2016-2017, a memorandum of understanding between the Belarusian university and the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and two supplemental agreements.

The Belarusian university pays close attention to expanding scientific cooperation with Indian companies and research centers. Priority avenues of cooperation include microelectronics, photonics, and nanotechnologies. In particular, there are plans to implement a joint project with the International Advanced Research Center for Powder Metallurgy & New Materials in Hyderabad. The project will produce sol-gel coating for energy conversion. The product can be used in photonics and microelectronics.

The possibility of designing chargers for electric cars together with the Indian company WorldSolutions is under consideration.

The Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics is now busy executing four contracts on the development and delivery of high-tech equipment for Indian customers.
