Belarusian inspectors check French army unit

MINSK, 31 March (BelTA) – An inspection team from Belarus has checked a French army unit, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Defense Ministry website.

In accordance with the Conventional Forces in Europe Treaty (CFE Treaty) an inspection team from Belarus was in France on 27-31 March to check a military unit, which is subject to control in accordance with the CFE Treaty. The Belarusian inspectors also visited a French army unit in line with the 2011 Vienna Document.

The inspectors confirmed that the number of armaments and military hardware on site matches the numbers France had revealed in accordance with the Conventional Forces in Europe Treaty. The information France provides to the OSCE member states within the framework of the 2011 Vienna Document with regard to personnel numbers, main weapon systems, and military hardware in the inspected army unit was verified during the visit.
