Belarusian Emergencies Ministry university to cooperate with two Georgian colleges

MINSK, 13 June (BelTA) – The Civil Protection University of the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry will cooperate with two Georgian colleges, the university's representatives told BelTA.

A memorandum of understanding and cooperation was signed by Head of the Civil Protection University Ivan Polevoda, Director of the Black Sea professional college Giorgi Gogitidze, Head of the Akhali Talga community college Lasha Khakhutaishvili, and Director of the Batumi State Musical Center Georgi Mikeladze on 13 June. In line with the document the Georgian side will determine education guidelines and the syllabus for training Georgian specialists at the Belarusian university, BelTA learned from the university's spokesman Andrei Sadovsky.

Vladimir Mgaloblishvili, Chairman of the Education, Science, Culture, and Sport Committee of the Supreme Council of Adjara (an autonomous republic in Georgia), visited Belarus in the past. He met with Belarusian Deputy Emergencies Minister Gennady Lasuta to discuss the training of specialists at the Civil Protection University of the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry. The sides agreed on cooperation in education in such areas as fire safety, industrial safety, and on-the-job safety. While in Belarus the Georgian delegation visited the Civil Protection University and its branch near the city of Borisov.
