Belarusian-Chinese R&D institute Zhong Xin opens in Minsk

MINSK, 24 May (BelTA) – The Belarusian-Chinese research and technology institute Zhong Xin was opened in Minsk on 24 May, BelTA has learned.

The opening ceremony took place in the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus during the visit of the delegation of China's Shandong Province led by Vice Governor Wang Shujian. Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov also took part in the opening ceremony.

The institute has been created by the R&D center for materials science of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and Linyi City Digital Company.

According to Vladimir Gusakov, labs and research centers involving Chinese scientists operate as part of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. “The opening of the new R&D institute is a bright example of close cooperation with Chinese colleagues. Our economies, our scientific potentials are getting integrated like that,” stressed the official.

The delegation of China's Shandong Province has arrived in Belarus to discuss promising avenues of Belarusian-Chinese cooperation in the area of science and education with the leadership of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. A number of cooperation documents will be signed as well.

On 24 May members of the Shandong Province delegation were made familiar with the NASB's permanently open exhibition that features the R&D products that have been assimilated by the production sector. While in Belarus the delegation will visit several research institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. The number includes the R&D center for materials science, the potato, fruit and vegetable farming R&D center, the Genetics and Cytology Institute, the Microbiology Institute, and the A.V. Lukov Mass and Heat Transfer Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
