Belarus-Uzbekistan agreement on joint forensic medicine projects

MINSK, 14 September (BelTA) – Belarus and Uzbekistan have agreed on joint R&D projects and programs in the area of forensic medicine, BelTA learned from Anna Zhdanova, spokeswoman for the State Forensic Examination Committee of Belarus.

The plans are stipulated by the cooperation agreement signed by the State Forensic Examination Committee of Belarus and the Uzbek Healthcare Ministry. The sides will share information in the sphere of forensic medical examination, coordinate scientific research efforts and R&D efforts in this field. Apart from that, the sides intend to arrange personnel development schemes based on joint seminars, educational courses to learn new forensic methods, organize mutual internship programs for specialists, test and adopt research methods and tools.

The State Forensic Examination Committee of Belarus has previously signed agreements in the sphere of forensic examination with the Justice Ministry and the Internal Affairs Ministry of Uzbekistan. Experts of these agencies visited Belarus during a conference held in Minsk in April to mark the five-year anniversary of State Forensic Examination Committee's establishment.

Anna Zhdanova noted that the agreements with the three Uzbek ministries will later allow realizing bilateral contacts in all the areas the committee works.
