Belarus, UNICEF discuss contemporary challenges in protecting rights of children

MINSK, 19 June (BelTA) – A working meeting between Permanent Representative of Belarus to the United Nations Valentin Rybakov and Executive Director of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) Henrietta Fore was held at the UNICEF headquarters in New York, BelTA learned form the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The parties exchanged views on the current issues of protecting the rights and interests of children and discussed the complex challenges facing the international community in ensuring sustainable progress in protecting children around the world.

Henrietta Fore became the seventh executive director of UNICEF on 1 January 2018. From 2007 to 2009, she served as administrator of the US Agency for International Development and Director of External Aid for the United States.
