Belarus, Ukraine adopt R&D cooperation program

MINSK, 18 September (BelTA) – Belarus and Ukraine have adopted a program on R&D and innovative cooperation for the period till 2020. The document was adopted at a session of the Belarusian-Ukrainian intergovernmental commission on cooperation in science and technology, the press service of the State Science and Technology Committee of Belarus told BelTA.

The document was signed by the committee's Deputy Chairman Sergei Shcherbakov and Ukrainian Deputy Education and Science Minister Maksim Strikha.

Belarus and Ukraine intend to step up R&D cooperation in priority cooperation avenues: information and communication technologies, optoelectronics, nanotechnologies, healthcare and pharmaceutics, agriculture, and mechanical engineering. The sides have also agreed to arrange a contest of joint R&D projects for the 2019-2020 period soon.
