Belarus to take part in Indian education forum in November

SOCHI, 23 October (BelTA) – Belarusian universities will take an active part in an education forum in India in November 2017, Belarus Education Minister Igor Karpenko told BelTA after the talks with the Indian delegation led by Deputy Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Sudhanshu Kumar Pandey.

At the meeting that took place on the sidelines of the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students the Belarusian and Indian delegations signed an action plan on the youth policy. Igor Karpenko told the media about some of them. In November 2017 India will host an education forum where all the Belarusian universities will take part. “Specialists will present the Belarusian potential in higher education. For us India is an interesting partner in what concerns the exports of education services. We will continue working in this direction,” the minister said.

Belarus and India plan to hold a joint forum of specialists on youth affairs and also a number of teleconferences that will provide young people from the two countries with an opportunity to communicate with each other.

During the meeting Igor Karpenko invited India to participate in the international youth forum Friendship Without Borders.

In September 2017 during the visit of Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko to India the Education Ministry of Belarus and the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of India signed a memorandum of cooperation in the youth policy. Igor Karpenko noted that the parties had already prepared a program of projects. He added that the Education Ministry of Belarus takes a serious approach to every framework document that is signed during official visits.

The 19th World Festival of Youth and Students gathered over 29,000 young professionals from more than 180 countries.
