Belarus' tax authorities to step up e-cooperation with commercial entities

MINSK, 20 January (BelTA) – The Belarusian tax authorities will be developing cooperation with commercial entities in the electronic format, Tax and Duties Minister Sergei Nalivaiko told the media on 19 January, BelTA informs.

“Much has been done to establish electronic cooperation with commercial entities, but the ministry intends to step up the effort. The number of services and possibilities will keep growing. In my opinion, this should become the main form of cooperation,” Sergei Nalivaiko underlined.

In his words, today there are 280,000 commercial entities in the country, which interact with the tax authorities in the electronic format. This refers not only to filing income tax returns and following some administrative procedures, but also to conducting audit to a great extent. “We have set up desk audit units to revise the approaches to audit. Their main goal is to conduct audit using analytical instruments, without interfering with the ongoing operation of commercial entities. Since their establishment, these units have proven to be very effective and have produced good results. This is why we will keep working in these fields,” Sergei Nalivaiko noted.

In this context, he stressed the need to update the databases of government bodies. “This is what we view as the main goal for 2018. As for the taxmen, we are ready for this in technical and technological terms,” the minister added.
