Belarus' State Control Committee, Russia's Accounts Chamber to hold joint events in 2018

MINSK, 24 October (BelTA) – The plan of action between the State Control Committee of Belarus and the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation for 2018 was approved at a board video conference on 24 October, BelTA has learned.

The plan includes six joint auditing events, Deputy Chairman of the State Control Committee Alexander Kurlypo said. These will be an audit to verify the fulfillment of obligations of the parties to the intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the construction of the nuclear power plant in Belarus (signed on 15 March 2011), an audit of the efficient use of the Union State budgetary resources allocated to mitigate the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster and social support to different categories of people in Russia and Belarus, who suffered from radiation.

Chairman of the Accounts Chamber of Russia Tatyana Golikova views the joint action plan a guarantee of future successful work.

“The State Control Committee and the Accounts Chamber signed a renewed agreement in Baku in September 2017. The document will be a new impetus to further improvement of joint auditing activities,” Chairman of the State Control Committee Leonid Anfimov said.

Taking part in the event were also State Secretary of the Union State Grigory Rapota, representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Belarus-Russia Union State, the Union State Permanent Committee, and diplomats.
