Belarus ships 50 buses to Russia's Saransk for 2018 FIFA World Cup

MOSCOW, 6 February (BelTA) – Russia's Saransk purchased 50 Belarusian passenger buses MAZ for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Attending the ceremony of handing over the new transport vehicles to Goreletrotrans Company was Mordovia head Vladimir Volkov and Saransk Mayor Piotr Tultayev, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian embassy in Russia.

“The fleet of public transport in Saransk has never been renewed at such a high level. 50 buses for a city is a big addition. One third of the urban fleet has been renewed. Just to compare: today commuters are carried by nearly 60 buses and 70 trolleybuses every day. Now we will be able to improve our transportation services on every route in the city,” Vladimir Volkov said.

Very soon MAZ buses will start operating on urban routes. Every bus has space inside for people with disabilities and connection devices with the driver. The low floor of the Belarusian bus improves accessibility for people in wheelchairs. Among the novelties are a loudspeaker communication, electronic route indicators and a LED display. Buses are equipped with an electronic communication and GLONASS navigation systems. They meet all safety equipments, including the Euro-5 emissions standards.
