Belarus seeks more joint pharmaceutical projects with India

MINSK, 23 March (BelTA) - Belarus would like to implement more joint pharmaceutical projects with India, Chairman of the Council of the Republic Mikhail Myasnikovich said as he met with representatives of the Indian pharmaceutical companies that are participating in Healthcare of Belarus 2017 expo in Minsk, BelTA has learned.

Now Belarus and India are implementing three investment projects in the production of medicines. Mikhail Myasnikovich expressed the hope that their number will increase following the visit of the representatives of the Indian pharmaceutical companies who are well represented at the expo.

Belarus and India cooperate in many areas, Mikhail Myasnikovich said. Relations between the two countries are developing not only in trade but also in investment. Belarus and India are implementing many promising sci-tech and university personnel training projects. “Joint projects are our contribution to the future, a guarantee that the bilateral cooperation will be continued. We are happy with our interaction at every level and see a big potential in it,” the Speaker of the Council of the Republic said.

Minsk is hosting the Healthcare of Belarus 2017 expo on 21-24 March. India is a partner country of the expo. The country has displayed a united exposition of nearly 50 national companies.

Healthcare of Belarus is the country's biggest medical expo that is traditionally attended by leaders of the medical and pharmaceutical industry, developers of new technologies in disease diagnostics and treatment. The expo annually gathers about 200 leading producers and distributors of medical equipment, services, medications and medical products from Belarus and other countries.
