Belarus, Russia's Kurgan Oblast sign cooperation advancement protocol

MOSCOW, 24 October (BelTA) – The governments of Belarus and Russia's Kurgan Oblast signed a protocol on advancing cooperation on 24 October, the press service of the Kurgan Oblast governor told BelTA.

The ceremony took place after a session of the bilateral working group in the city of Kurgan on 24 October. The document was signed by Belarusian Housing and Utilities Minister Alexander Terekhov and Kurgan Oblast Vice Governor Sergei Chebykin.

In line with the protocol Belarus and Kurgan Oblast will continue cooperation in trade, economy, scientific, technical, and cultural affairs. There are plans to establish cooperation with Belarusian companies, including in supplies and aftersales service of agricultural machines. Selling the machines on preferential terms will be discussed.

As far as housing and utility services are concerned, the Belarusian side will take part in regional programs on replacing lifts and upgrading lift equipment. Business contacts will be established between education institutions in Kurgan Oblast and Belarus. Plans have been made to advance bilateral cooperation in tourism.
